Guide

Gold guide

Purity, physical form and weight are how gold is described. None of them is a GXLD offer, and none of them proves that a gram in an account is a particular bar.

Glossary
The corner of a plain gold bar in raking light, the metal itself, not a fineness mark
Fineness

Gold purity

Fineness is parts per thousand. A higher number does not prove title, authenticity or a GXLD product.

A bar, a plain coin and a few granules on a ledge, forms of gold, not stock
Forms

Forms of gold

Bars, coins, granules and jewellery are physical forms. A gram balance is an ownership record, not another shape.

A brass balance with one gold bar on the lower pan, a measure, not a GXLD bar
Weight

Weight and measures

Grams, kilograms and the troy ounce. Gross weight and fine gold are different quantities.
